The Gardening and Nature Club at St. Cuthbert’s Hartlepool recently enjoyed an inspiring coastal walk led by an expert guide from the Durham Wildlife Trust. This hands-on experience gave pupils the chance to learn about caring for the environment and understand their role as planet caretakers.

During the walk, the group discovered the importance of grasslands in our ecosystem, identified local birds and trees, and explored the unique landscape of Blackhall Rocks and its striking limestone cliffs.

Back at school, pupils will use their new knowledge to create advice and information for our school community and lead a talk to share what they’ve learned. This activity not only deepened their understanding of nature but also encouraged environmental responsibility and teamwork.
