New Reception Starters Enjoy Lunch Visit
St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool recently welcomed its new Reception starters for a special school lunch visit, giving children an opportunity to experience a key part of school life ahead of starting in September. The visit allowed the children to practise choosing their own lunch and enjoy a meal alongside their future classmates in the school dining hall. Staff were delighted to see how confidently the children embraced the experience, making their selections and trying the food they had chosen.
Celebrating RHS Level 2 Award Success
St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool is celebrating exciting news from its Gardening and Nature Club, which has successfully achieved the Level 2 award from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The award recognises the club’s commitment to developing gardening skills and promoting environmental awareness within the school community.
Exploring Hartlepool from our Roof Garden
Reception pupils enjoyed a memorable and engaging learning experience as they visited the school’s roof garden for an exciting afternoon of discovery. The session began in the classroom, where the children discussed where they live and shared what they already knew about Hartlepool. This helped build a strong foundation before taking their learning to the next level—quite literally.

First Holy Communion Celebration
Congratulations to our 12 pupils who received their First Holy Communion at St Joseph’s Church—a truly special and meaningful occasion in their faith journey. This beautiful celebration marked an important milestone, as the children took this next step in their relationship with God, surrounded by their families, friends and school community.
Celebrating St Cuthbert’s Care Through Prayer and Action
Yesterday, three of our pupils had the wonderful opportunity to attend a special Mass of thanksgiving in honour of St Cuthbert’s Care. This meaningful occasion allowed them to reflect on the important work the charity does to support and care for those in need within our community.
Gardening Club Harvest Their First Vegetables
Our Gardening Club has some exciting news to kick off the month of May! With signs of spring all around us, this week marked a very special milestone as we proudly harvested our very first vegetables, which were planted earlier this year. The children were incredibly proud of their achievement and eager to share their success with the wider school community. Their hard work, patience and care have truly paid off, bringing their greenspace to life.
