Our Gardening Club has some exciting news to kick off the month of May! With signs of spring all around us, this week marked a very special milestone as we proudly harvested our very first vegetables, which were planted earlier this year.
The children were incredibly proud of their achievement and eager to share their success with the wider school community. Their hard work, patience and care have truly paid off, bringing their greenspace to life.
On Friday, following collective worship, the Gardening Club delivered a fantastic 10-minute presentation, introducing their greenspace project and explaining why it is so important. They spoke confidently about the benefits of gardening, sustainability and looking after our environment—an inspiring moment for everyone listening.
To celebrate their harvest, the group even shared some of their freshly picked radishes with their fellow pupils. While some found the flavour a little too strong, many were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed trying something new!
We are incredibly proud of the Gardening Club for their enthusiasm, teamwork and dedication. What a wonderful example of learning, growing and sharing together!
