Today, our Gardening Club enjoyed a fantastic afternoon outdoors with an autumn walk through Burn Valley Gardens.
As we explored the gardens, pupils put their nature knowledge to the test by identifying different trees and shrubs using the shapes of their leaves and the fruits they produce. Along the way, we also spotted a variety of local wildlife, including squirrels and several species of birds. A particular highlight was seeing green parrots frolicking among the trees, which caused great excitement amongst the group!
As well as enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, our pupils also helped to care for the local environment. Armed with litter pickers and bin bags, they collected two bags of litter during their walk, making a positive contribution to the community.
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about nature, enjoy the fresh air and demonstrate our commitment to looking after the world around us. Well done to everyone in Gardening Club for their enthusiasm and hard work!
